Linda had over seven different names by the time they turned seven years old. Some names were imposed by US and Chinese institutions, reflecting the challenges of technology, translation, and cultural disparities. Others were given by eager parents from separated, evolving families. Since then, Linda has fiercely championed the right to choose one's own name and tell one's own story.

Currently, Linda is pursuing an MFA in Film Directing at CalArts. They advocate for narrative agency beyond the screen and mentor teens at WriteGirl LA. They are a 2024 Flaherty Fellow and also served as a 2022 Sundance Collab Community Leader.
